“What do you want to be when you grow up?” is a common question child is asked, and to which they reply with something they may have seen on TV or heard their parents say. Unfortunately, the conversation often stops there with no detailed mapping of how they can reach this goal. Even if kids do not know exactly what they want to be when they grow up, they should be taught to think through the possibilities.
In “Journey,” Carson and Luke support each other throughout their education, but it’s after receiving a surprising award that they begin to think about their future. Carson and Luke were able to reach their goals because they developed an action plan after conduction research, seeking guidance, and making sure to perform well in school.
